Tbe two performances ol Cole's circus
Monday were attendctl by crowds. The
ring performances were good tbe
tumbling statuary and a-rlal trapeze

average. Dr. Carver and his wild west
troupe gave satisfaction and the ltoman
races nnd other races were exciting. Tbe
menagerie was qtilto complete also. Tbe
circus left last mgbt for Gonzales where
they show to-day; from Gonzales they

At one of our local churcbus on Sun-
day night tbe pastor called upon sin-
ners to turn from their evil ways or they
would go lo Hades. Just then someone
rung a cheslt.ut bell and tbe ellt-ct was
amusing. The pastor's eyes Hashed In-
dignantly young Indies tittered but
tried to look good eldetly ladles nnd
gentlemen assumed n grave demeanor
and all tho young men put on an It-wasn't-me-klnd-of-an-alr.

manufacture of rifles. One hundred and
twenty barrels can be rolled In an hour
by one machine; they are straightened
