"I Want to' Wear Tight"
An advertisement was placed In the
newspapers recently stating that 00
handsome ladles were required for the
drama of "Michael Strdgoff." In answer
to that announcement Manager Itlsche
had eight replies. The Ilrst ono
to use the words of Mr. An-
drews the proprietor of the company
"looked like a servant girl well got up
with a set of false hair on." This lady
Inquired for Mr. Hlsche and when she
met him she said she could dance.
Itlsche begged that she would show him
a specimen of her terpslchorean skill
which she Immediately did. "Ob 1 do
so want to wear tights Mr. Itlsche. I
have a lovely form" and the lady
of matnre years bared a scraggy
arm lor Mr. fllscbe's Inspection. This
was to much for him and ere be lost
control of his risible muscles he bowed
the lady out and suggested she should
go to Air Andrews. The lady was nut
to be daunted by this dismissal but pro-
ceeded forthwith to that gentle-
man and Informed him she could
act aad elng. and felt herself
perfectly qualllled to assume any charac-
ter In Michael Strogod from Premier
Dsaseuse to Nadla Frdor. The lady's
hopes were quickly dashed to the ground
however when Mr. Andrews Informed
her they only needed one or two
ladles to walk on the stage and
look as pretty as porslble the
remuneration for which would be SI a
performance. He also wanted t Inform
her that she was an "unattractive old
thing" but his rntural gallantry forbade
It. This lady who "wants to wear
tights so bad" Is a member of high
social standing In the community but
the I.taitr refrains from publishing her
name.
