Cannibal Trout.
The canuibalistic proclivities of
the commou river trout have been
strikingly demonstrated in the
case of a trout caught on the
Tweed at fclempsford Kelso.
While Mr. E. G. Bo nd was fishimr
in the stream at .this place with
worms he hooked a large trout and
duly landed the fish. The angler
was not a little surprised to dis-
cover the tail of a smaller trout
protruding to the extent of two or
three inches from the mouth of the
captive. The larger fish weighed
about pounds and measured IS
inches in length while his month-
ful after being taken from his
gullet weighed fully U pound and
measured about S'a inches long.
