Sigma Alpha receives $650 from SGA
By KELSEY FITZGIBBON
Staff Writer
The Student Government Association held
a meeting Wednesday at 5:15 p.m. in the con-
ference room 22D of the Thompson Student
Center. House Rep. Chris Farmer led the meet-
ing.
After quick announcements, the floor was
open to funding requests. Sigma Alpha had
the first of two requests, asking for $ 650 to
support their national convention taking place
from Oct. 11-13. The council moved to allow
the request, took a vote, and passed the mo-
tion to hind the full amount. Delta Zeta also
requested funds to sponsor National Hazing
Prevention Week. This will be the first year
that Tarleton State University will recognize
the program. After voting, the $150 request
was approved.
The floor was then opened to suggestions
of council members wanting to improve the
campus. It was suggested that the shuttle bus
hours be extended for easier transportation,
a fisheye mirror be placed at the intersection
outside of the Wisdom Gym parking lot, and
that Tarleton become more handicap accessible
in certain areas, ft was also suggested that the
sprinkler system be regulated as the summer
brought an excess of rain, and puddles from
the system remain on campus.
SGA meets on a regular basis aiming to
improve campus life. For further information,

'Gweat Weviews'
t'Fuddy Meers' delivers on laughs

Filled with improbable
circumstances and over-the-
top quirky characters, Faddy
Meers directed by Carol Stav-
ish is an A+ comedy guaran-
teed to keep you entertained
all the way through.
It is like the movie Fifty
First Dates gone awry with es-
caped convicts, a crazy pup-
pet, and a confused woman
in the midst of it all trying to
make sense of the nonsense.
Claire wakes up in the
morning to find herself a
blank slate surrounded by
wacky characters who tell her
she has psychogenic amnesia
and forgets everything when
she goes to sleep at night. The
characters she encounters in
her quest to find out what
happened to her include Rich-
ard, her husband with a dark
past, Kenny, her teenage son
with drug problems, Gertie,
her mother who recently had
a stroke and. cannot put one
coherent sentence together,
Millet, a convict with a pup-
pet that has Tourettes, Heidi,
the claustrophobic cop, and a
mysterious limping man who
claims he is her brother who
has come to rescue her. This
all leads to a messy, confusing
entanglement that is hilarious
and completely enjoyable.
The actors ,are gfgat: They
put comedy into e^§fy minute
of their performance, The set
has a very clever use of space.
I recommend this comedy
to anyone who just wants to
have a good laugh, but I don't
recommend it to children be-
cause of Binky the puppet's
offensive language and some
drug use.
