ing. He averaged 12.6 points and
10 rebounds a game last year.
Sneed, a guard, could develop in-
to one of the outstanding players
in the conference this year. He
can shoot, jump, play defense
and burn opponents with his
speed.
TSU's biggest man will be
sophomore David Schumacer at
6-5. He only played ten games
last year, but is a tough per-
former. The Texans will rely on
him and sophomore forwards
Bryan Stewart and Dan Town-
send on the inside.
Helping Sneed at the guard spot
will be senior Gary Smith and
sophomore Rob Gillette.
Perry will not hesitate to go to
his bench this year, and has
several capable freshmen to rely
on. "We'll do a lot of shuffling of
players in and out of the game,"
Perry admits.
Top freshman prospects at
guard include Weldon Nickerson
and Ross Taylor, while Ken
Richardson and Keith Kponee
will get a long look at the post
position.
"I really haven't decided on a
starting lineup yet," says Perry.
"We have a lot of talent and a lot
of potential. I'll be looking at a
lot of people during the season."
At the moment, Perry's biggest
concern will be blending the right
combination of players to gain
the patience they need to have a
successful start,
