Mark your calanders now for
the Tarleton Players' production
of "The Rimers of Eldritch," a
mystery drama by Lanford
Wilson. The play will be
presented Nov. 13-15 and 20-22 in
the Theatre of the Clyde H. Wells
Fine Arts Center on the TSU cam-
pus. "The Rimers of Eldritch"
contains language and situations
not suitable for children.
The action of the play occurs in
Eldritch, a virtual ghost town
after its short-lived glory as a
mining town. The people left in
the town are people of the earth,
with much to hide. This gives
Martha Truitt (Melenda
Pomykal) and Wilma Atkins (Kit
Mash), the town gossips, plerjty
to talk about. Eva (Susan Chris-
tian), a young crippled girl, has
been molested, and the suspect,
was murdered before the trial.
But the town gossips have a hey-
day as they try to decide whether
he was really guilty or not. The
town is in an uproar to discover
the truth.
Skelly Manor (Jimmy Bell) is
the town hermit who knows
everything that occurs in Eldrit-
ch. Is it really first-hand
knowledge? Why will no one
listen when Skelly tries to reveal
the secrets pf the mysterious
drifter named Walter (Mark
MiUer)? Why does Skelly disap-
prove of the Johnson family? Is it
because Josh Johnson (Brett
Robertson) carries on the tradi-
tion of tormenting the old hermit,
or is there really more to it than
that? Why does everyone
distrust Skelly? The townspeople
trust Nelly Winrod (Sharon
Miller), but in the privacy of her
own home, she physically abuses
her senile mother. Who knows
the truth about the town and the
murder? Where in all this
distrust and suspicion does the
truth lie?
The cast includes Richard
Butler as Robert Conklin, Mary
Rucker as Evelyn Jackson, Susie
