LP-Gas provides alternative
by Denise Dean
To help reduce gasoline costs
and to avoid the threat of gas
rationing, many local residents
are converting their automobiles
to use cheaper LP-gas.
James Moser, manager of
Shannon Supply Company, says
it costs about $900 to install a
LP-gas system. LP-gas (liquified
petroleum) costs about 45 cents
less per gallon than gasoline and
is comparable to the highest
octane gasoline available.
LP-gas burns cleaner and
helps cut down on maintenance
by as much as one-half. Oil life
can be increased up to fivt
times. The LP-gas system can be
exchanged from one vehicle to
another and lasts forever. A $20
repair kit is available in stores to
fix internal parts of the system.
The major problem with
LP-gas is that it is only available
from a butane-propane dealer
and some people feel it cuts
down on power and gas mileage.
Moser says most systems they
sell are dual systems which
means if your rank runs out of
LP-gas you can change back to
your regular gasoline system
with the flip of a switch. As far

adequate system is installed with
Dorm life means fun
by P. J. Bryan
The first experience a student
encounters in the fall of each
year at TSU is the dormitory.
This is a confusing time for
everyone, but it . leads to a very
interesting and rewarding time.
Seven sophomore girls that
live in Hunewell Annex got
together with me to talk about
living in the dorms. Nancy Hill,
Jana Wilburn, and Tanya Hines,
all of Ft. Worth, Pam>
Blankenship of Snyder, Mary
Elliott of Harlingsn, Tammy
Eathorne of Austin, and Lori
Williams of Eastland, all piled up
on the beds and on the floor and
decided that life in the
university dormitories isn't all
that bad, A whole lot of fun ant
the life-long friendships are a bic
part of the time spent at school.
After the confusion of
moving in and getting settled the
girls start meeting and getting to

your vehicle and its intended use
in mind there should be no loss
in power.
Moser feels to really justify
the cost of the conversion,
people must be putting quite a
few miles on their vehicle. It is
most popular with farmers and
salesmen.
Though LP-gas systems can
be installed in cars they are more
popular in pickups where there
is plenty of room in the bed for
the 80-150 gallon tank. In cars
the tank is installed in the trunk.
LP-gas is readily available from
dealers and some truck stops in
most towns.

y/ith student I.D. on everything
except class rings and repair
clothes, ears (for discussing
problems) and anything else
possible, makes the feeling of
having an army of sisters aound
very real. Sunday dinners
together ($30 of pizza one time)
and going to the others' homes
to visit add to the memories that
will last long after graduation.
The fun begins almost as soon
as classes do. Pulling harmless
pranks on roommates,
suitemates, and even the girls
down the hall, seems to become
an obsession after the initial
attack of prank-fever. Granted
that some of the girls might get
upset when they find their bras
in the freezer or their sheets
missing off their beds, there is
always some way to get even.
