The Tarleton Players will
open the 1980-81 drama season
with the classic comedy,
"Charley's Aunt", on October
10,11, 16, 17 and 18 in the Theater
of the new Clyde H. Wells Fine
Arts Center.
This comedy masterpiece

around Jack Chesney, (played
by Terry Richardson), who loves
Kitty Verdun, (Marleigh Logan),
and Charles, (Richard Butler),
who loves Miss Spettigue,
(Tammy Bucher), Jack and
Charles invite Kitty and Miss
Spettigue to meet Charley's
Aunt from Brazil, so she can
approve their marriage plans:
But alas, the wealthy aunt sends
a message that she will be
delayed a few days.
The young lovers are upset
with the situation, because they
cannot declare their love
publicly. They simply cannot
wait any longer in proceeding
with their marriage plans. The
problem is solved by forcing
another Oxford friend into skirt

impostor, (Rick Brinson), is
formally introduced to the
sweethearts, to Jack's father,

couples are pleased and kiss and
hug Charley's Aunt. The two
men start wooing her.
In the midst of all this,
Charley's real aunt from Brazil
arrives, and she too assumes
another identity. In all the
comic confusion which results,
young Lord Babberley, posing as
the Aunt, tricks Stephen
Spettigue into agreeing to the
marriage of Miss Spettigue to
Charley. The real Aunt from
Brazil marries Jack's father. Jack
gets Kitty, and Lord Babberley

majority of the time is spent
sitting. The result is an upsurge
of breathlessness while walking
up the H & B stairs, nightime
insomnia, and worst of all, a
creeping flabbiness which
suddenly appears where muscles
flexed only yesterday.
Wisdom Gymnasium is
available for use by all TSU
students. Gym hours are from 8;
a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays and
I p.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends.
Athletic equipment can be
/ checked out at the equipment
room better known as the cage,
with a student ID card. A variety
of equipment is available: tennis
and badmitton rackets,
basketballs, volleyballs,
footballs, soccer balls, golf clubs,
baseball bats, balls, and gloves.
Equipment must be turned in
within 24 hours or a $1.00 per
day late fee will be assessed.

; Registration for TSU's senate
sponsored ski trip is now open
with a $20 deposit required,
which is non-refundable.
The trip will take place at
Winter Park/Mary Jane Colo.
The run features 14 beginner
slopes, 18 intermediate slopes,
and 20 advanced slopes. The
cost for five days and nights is
$130, including lift tickets.
Approximate cost of equipment
rental is $9 per day.
Airfare will run from $115 to
$160, and meals will run about
$12 per day. The travel
arrangements will be handled by
Travel Assoc., Inc. of Milwalkee
Wl.
The deadline for regisrering is
Oct. 9 at 4:30. Register in the
Student Center or call 968-9256
for further information.
There will be 1000 other
colleges there with two major
parties,two college against
college ski races, and a bfeer and
cheese party on themountain.
