recorded "The Three Bells" for
their first gold record.
For more than 20 years
Brown performed with his sisters
Maxine and Bonnie and later as a

another female vocalist, Helen
Cornelius, and a year later the
duo won the Country Music
Association's "Duo of the Year"
award.
The sisters retired in the late
I960's after traveling all over the
world, and Brown started a
spiraling career as a single. He
first hit the charts with
"Southern Living," "Pop-A-Top
Again," "Sometime Sunshine,"
and "Morning." Every song "he
has recorded since has made the
charts including back-to-back
hits with his hew singing partner,
A star in her own right,
Cornelius began her career by
winning the Ted Mack Amateur
Hour competition as a
Youngster from Hannibal, Mo.

the duet produced two of the
nation's top hits "I Don't Want
To Have To Marry You" and
"Saying Hello, Saying I Love
You, Saying Goodbye."
Brown and Cornelius have
made guest appearances on
Dolly Parton's "Dolly," Hee
Haw, and Popl Goes the
Country.
