Miss TSC Pageant
The TSC Stage Band, under the direction of Mr. Tim Bell, the woodwinds instructor for the
Music: Department, will be featured March 21 at the Miss Tarleton State College pageant.

The Civic Series will
present Ferrante and Tei-
cher, duo pianists, in the
Main Auditorium at-8:00 p.m.
on February 9.
The recording artists
have sold over 20 million
records and have won
eleven gold record awards
(eight gold LP albums and
three million-seller singles)."

larity can best be guaged
by their solid box-office all
over the country and their
phenominal list of recording
hits which followed 'The
Apartment' and_ 'Exodus.'
These not only sold millions
and became their musical
identity, but also earned
for,them the coveted title
of 'The Movie Theme Team.'
Recently they achieved a
new pinnacle in their career
when their 50th record al-
bum was released.
Ferrante and Teicher
are today the most sought-
after musical combination in
show business. They have
appeared on every major tel-
ision network program

Students will be admit-,
ted to the concert upon pres- -
entation of their student,
identification cards. Others
may purchase tickets at the
Cashier's Office or the door
for $2.00 each.

Sixteen coeds Will com-
pete for the title of Miss
Tarleton State College and
the change to represent-TSC
in the Miss Texas pageant
next summer. The list of
hopefuls includes two j uniors,
five sophomores, and nine
freshmen.
Diana Davis of Granbury
and Barbara Gray of Fort
Worth are the two uppercl ass-
men in the group. The sopho-
mores include Suzanne Bern-
hardt, Olney; Cynthia Cheves,
Fort Worth; Darla Jewell,
Stpr; Sharon Price, Graham;
Jan Schneider, Georgetown.
The freshman contest-
ants are Jeanette Alsup;
Stephenville; Linda Daniels,
Stephenville; Mary ( Doty,
Abilene; Judy McCorkle,
Comanche; Beatrice Pena,
Brown wood; Martha Eliza-
beth Porter, Blanket; Linda
Remele, Colorado Springs;
Mary Kathleen Slaten, Ste-
phenville; and Nancy
Weatherby, Abilene.
The .first taste of com-
petition for the girls will be
on February 13, when a prer
lipinary 'pageant,* to be
judged by the members of
the pageant committee, will
be held in the main auditor-
ium. The finalists chosen on
that date will then compete
iri the official Miss Tarleton
State College pageant on
March 21.
The pageant will fea-
ture each girl in three sep-
arate divisions—appearance
in evening' gowri, bathing
suit, and talent competition.
There will also be colorful
production numbers where
the girls will be joined by
the Tarleton Singers and
accompanied, by the stage
band.
Mrs. W>„ O, Trogdon will
entertain the contestants
with an informal coke party
at her home this evening.
BUND COMPETES
IN DENVER RODEO
Rex Bland, a Tarleton
State College sophomore
from Abilene, is currently
holding down the fourth spot
in calf-roping at the RCA
Rodeo in Denver, Colorado-
Bland, a member of the
Tarleton rodeo team, is
among three TSC students
competing in the Denver
event- The finals are set for
Saturday night. Bland won
the first go-around in the
calf-roping. ■
The other Tarleton stu-
dents are Bobby Hungate, a
senior from Waco, and Rich-
' ard Waites, a Uvalde sopho-
more. All of \ the boys are
agriculture majors and mem-
bers of the Tarleton rodeo
team.
Placement Office Announces
Interviews
The Placement Office
would like to remind senior
candidates for 1970 gradu-
ation . of interview proce-
dures in regard to job place-
ment- ,
Seniors who are inter-
ested in a placement inter-
view must have a placement
folder on file in the Place-
ment Office.
Interviews should be
scheduled from ten days to

two days prior to date of
each interview. Interview
dates will be posted on
Bulletin Board #10 in the
Administration Building.
Additional interviews will
be announced as scheduled.
