TSC Cagers Loose Twice
In Conference Play
Tarleton's Plowboy cage team
took two conference losses last
week, after a two-week lay-off due
to final exai^S. They lost to
Sehreiner Wednesday night by a
82-46 score, and to San Angelo
Saturday night by a 84-47 score.
The Plowboys have ben streng-
thened considerably by the addit-
ion of several new players. One of
them, LaRue Hear, sh'owed to good
advantage in the Sehreiner game
by netting 18 points on six field
goals and one free shot. He was
the number two man 'in the scor-
ing parade for Tarleton, second
only to Robert Strebeck who got
15 points on four field shots and
7 free tosses. Jimmy Everett also
got into the double figures by sink-
ing three field goals and five free
throws for 11 points. Charles
Banks was high for Sehreiner and
the game with 19 points.
The San Angelo game turned out
to be a high, scoring, contest be-
tween Robert Strebeck of the Plow-
boys and James Lewallen of the
Earns. At the. end, Lewallen came
off with 26 points and Strebeck
had 23. The game was very good
during the-first half; At the half,
the Plowboys trailed by only fi-ve
points, 32-27, After the half, the
Tarletcmites had a hard time get-
ting moving for several minutes.
During this time the Rams scored

Stadium Expansion
Bids on enlarging, the concrete
stadium on Tarleton's Memorial
Field will be opened at 2 p. m.
Thursday in the Science Building.
Specification will cover an 800-
square foot enlargement of the
present stands on tU© west side of
the field. Pinal action on the bids
will be subject to the action of the
board of directors of the Texas
A&M College System at their Feb-
ruary meeting in College Station.
Students Allowed
Six More Days
For Registration
Six more days will be allowed
for registration at Tarleton State
'College with Feb. 11 being the final
day on which a student may regis-
ter for full college credit.
The registrar's office announced
549 students enrolled at 9 a. m.
Saturday. Of this number, 405 were
boys, 11 were veterans, and 133
were girls. There were 338 jun-
iors, 173 seniors, eight academy
students, and 30 special students.
Final figures are expected to reach
600.,
In addition to the college stu-
dents there were 225 air force
cadets attending classes. This num-
ber will increase to 300 during the
next month, making an overall
total of approximately 900 stu-
dents on the campus.

ROTC Rifle Team
Loses Close Match
Tarleton's. ROTC rifle team fired
a match against the rifle team of
Texas University on Jan. 2G. Re-
sults of the match have just been
announced.
Texas University defeated Tar-
leton by about 25 points. Out of a
possible 2000 points Texas Univer-
sity, fired a total of 1846. The TSC
sharpshooters fired a total score of
1821 out of a possible 2000,
The team is now competing in the
Fourth Army Intercollegiate and
Interscholastic match. Complete
results will, be known in the near
future.
A student who withdraws from
a course during the first four
weeks of a semester receives no
grade and the course will not' be
lister on his permanent record.
The shortest road to riches is to
spend like you were poor.

A student is eligible for the
semester honor roll who makes 30
or more grade points for the sem-
ester and has no failing grades.
A student is entitled to the schol-
arship "T" award who distinguish-
es himself during any two succed-
ing semesters. •;
, A student shall be allowed unex-
eused absences in each course for
theory and lab equal to the credit
hour value of the course, except in
the case of scheduled exams.
He who said that drinking
