according to detectives who recently
saved a young woman 30 years old.

Kew York expecting to meet "a Cuban
gentleman of moderate means."
The advertiser said he was "edu-
cated and home loving.' He proved
to be the negro janitor of a Bronx
apartment bouse. The girl with a
letter from him in her haedbag. ar-
rived at the Pennsylvania station from
her small home town. She had never
been in Kew York before and a rail-
road porter turned her over to a Trav
elers' Aid society worker who agreed
to accompany her to the home of the
man she called "cousin. Disillusioned
the young woman was given shelter
tor the nbrbt her family telegraphed
and funds received which permitted her
to return home the townfolk being
none the wiser.
In the police investigation of the
janitor which followed the man dis
played letters from nossui who were
members of two correspondence clubs
one in Oakland Calif. and the other
in San Francisco. Lists found ia his
