Set of Classics for Wise Question
"First thing I ever won," ex-
claimed Mrs. R. O. (Peggy) Wes-
tern, when informed that she was
the winner ot a M-volume set
of Great Books of the Western
World.
The set was presented by Mor-
timer J. Adler, whose column
appears in the Wichita Falls Rec-
ord News, to Mrs. Western for
submitting a question of general
interest to be included and ans-
wered in Dr. Adler's column.
Mrs. Western, who lives with
her busband on their 500-acre
ranch 13 miles out of Bowie, also history and historical surround-
works at Griffin's Drug in town, ings in the life of Christ
She enjoys her town job because I
she “likes to meet people.”
She says she will enjoy the
new additions to hei* already ex-
tensive library. Her husband is
also an avid reader, and they
admit that many of their volumes
are ‘loaned out' to friends.
Mrs. Western sajD the boo*
set will probably be of more use
to her since she is taking a cor-
respondence course ih English,
and another In child psychology
from Scarrett University in Ten-
nessee. She has studied Bible |

She is teaching an adult Sun-
day school class, and thoroughly
believes in furthering her educa-
tion. She hopes to eventually
win a degree In education.
Mr. and Mr*. Western are
members of the Firdt Methodist
Church Un Bowie. They make
make their home on the Circle
W, their ranch on the Newport
Road.
