Plea Rejected
WASHINGTON .* — The Civil
Aeronautics Board in Washington
rejected complaints of "the city
and Chamber of Commerce af Fort
Worth that the city lacks adequate
air ivice
While disagreeing with the Fort
Worth positiun. the board said it
will continue to keen an eye cn the
situation.
In a three to two decision, the
hoard di>aereed with a finding of
one of its examiners that Fort
Worth does not get adequate air
service to four other cities.
Asto Fort Worth's contention that
neighboring Dallas' municipally-
o.vned Love Field gets a dis-propor-
tionate share of air schedules, the
Civil Aeronautics Board said:
"The fact that another city en-
joyes more or better service does
no (trove that service at the com-
plaining city is inadequate.
"In anv event, the record does
not support Fort Worth's claim of
discrimination in favor of Dallas."
The board added this is true par-
ticular)' in vu w of differences in
the nature of the economies of Uw
two cities and the greater econom-
ic importance and traffic poteutiai
of Dallas
The complaints were filed by
Fort Worth on September 9th. 1955.
Months later CAA examiner Leslie
Donahue found Fort Worth has ade-
quate -ervicc to 2.1 other cities but
has inadequate service to New
York. Wellington, New Orleans
and Midland
