Gridders Blaze
In Work-outs
The Jacket gridders have
finished their fourth week of
spring drills. Head football
coach Dean Slay tori stated "the
primary purpose of this week
was to tighten up both the
defensive line and develop our
pass blocking techniques."
The gridders have shown
promising developments in pri-
marily the defensive, second-
ary, and the offensive back-
field during this year's spring
drills. Mike Aduddell and
Steve Watson, the basic foun-
dation of the defensive sec-
ondary, have been carried on
the injured squad and have
not seen much action the past
few weeks. John Scott, Randy
Adair and Bennie Reece have
carried a great deal of the re-
sponsibilities in the mass of de-
fensive preparation.
Coach Slayton, assisted by
the other members of his staff,
plan for the team to work in
pads Tuesday and Thursday
of next week in hopes of re-
fining all the mistakes and
making ready for the schedul-
ed 2 p.m. spring game at Lion
Stadium on April 12! Coach
Slayton and his staff invite
all students to come and see
the nucleus of next year's
football squad.
