Dear Readers, We are writing this as a letter to the Editor to
address a question we have been hearing a lot lately. Is the the
Tulia Herald out of business?.. The answer to that question
is difficult and unclear. As far as we know Mr. Russett, editor
of the Herald, has not put out a publication since late June
of this year. Since we are not affiliated with them and he
has made no public statements, we really do not know any
more than any one else. There is obviously something amiss
so our advise is that we pray for Chris and ask God to help
him through whatever difficulties he may be going through.
In the mean time we are publishing every week and will be
happy to try to meet all of your news media needs.

Dear sirs,
I, just today, received your August 17th copy of the Swisher County
News with the fine article about the old depot written by Mrs. Milam,
and the photo of the beautifully restored building.
I don’t know why it took so long enroute, but I am assuming that
everyone tn the U S Postal Department wanted to read all of it before
relinquishing it to my mailbox here
I usually give my copy to Bill Hiett, former Tulian, and now resident
here at Elm Brook - but I am keeping this copy forever and if Old Bill
wants to re-read it, he will have to come to our apartment to re-read it
Ha.
1 want to show it to our daughters, grandchildren, and great grand-
children when they get old enough to read.
Thank you for that interesting history of the old depot. Much of it I
didn’t know Till now
Sincerely,
Ed Jennings

Twice in the last couple of weeks
we had incidences of unvaccinated
dogs killing a skunk. In both in-
cidences the skunk heads were
shipped to the health department in
Austin to be checked for rabies.
In both instances the skunk
heads were damaged so badly the
rabies test could not be run Since
it cannot be determined if the dogs
were actually exposed to rabies the
State of Texas will assume they
have been exposed and will require
the owners to have a licensed Vet-
erinarian give a series of three vac-
cinations and the animals isolated
