planes raided England in broad day-
light today.

An aeroplane this afternoon dropped
bombs'within thirty miles of London.
The machines firsi appeared over
Hearne bay, to the cast of Canterbury,
abbut fifty mllni from London. Later at
Faversham. and finally apeared over Sit-
tingbourne, the Kent town only thirty
miles- from London. , Though bombs
were d/opped on each town/apparcntly
the damage done w as negligible.
THIRD ATTEMPT IN SC HOURS.
This is the third uermari aerial at-
tack made on Eastern England points in
the past thirty-sik hopes. The other
two were night raids' by Zepp^ins yes-
terday morning and this morning. In
neither'raid was tin* damage material,
but they are taken to mean that Ger-
many is preparing for a big .raid by the
Zeppelfns which have been reported in
course of construction on Lake Con-
stance ever since the war began.
