HEALTH
2s the
Most Important
In buying food-articles you must con-
sider several things: Economy Results
Easy Handling Reliability; but the most
important is Health.
Health means everything. In clothes
furniture etc. if the buyer gets a poor or
imitation article the only harm is loss of
money. In buying food-articles if imi-
tations are supplied there is a loss of
money and probably an injury to health
which is beyond price.
Remember these facts when buying
baking powder.

The Suntn Fe will soon become

It is Btatod upon what seems to
ho the host ot authority that the
Santa Fo will build a connecting
link of about 500 miles this year
which will give that road practi-
cally as direct a route from Gal-
veston to Los Angeles and San
Francisco as that already in
existence in the shape of tho
Southern 1'acilic railroad.
It is learned that the Santa Fo
company intends to use $7000000
of the money to be obtained from
the proposed SGO.OOO 000 bond
issue which is to be authorized at
a special meeting to be held in
Topeka on January 2-1 for tho
purpose of building the proposed
cut-oil' across the Staked Plains
of Texas which will pluco tho
Santa Fe in a position to compete
with the Southern Pucilic railroad

It is thus seen that by tho con-

Now iB the time to make prepar-
ation for tho county fair of 11)03.
It takes time to organize and per-
fect pluiiB for such an institution
and one reason why -they have
often not been more prosperous or
successful in the past has been
due to a failure to properly or-
ganize and prepare in advance.
With lessons ot the pust year
fresh in memory now is tho time
to form now resolutions and mako
needed ehnngoR looking to tho
improvement of the fair so that
it may serve the best interests of
its onstituents. Nothing will
be accomplished however if
every person stands around and
talks about what the other mun
ought to do. What each com-
munity neods and has is a leader.
Seek him out for one man can be
an inspiration to a whole county.
Jtisthe duly of every patriotic
citicn. whi'ii such a leader is dis-
covered to rally around him and
support him in his efforts to es-
tablish a fair. Ho needs all the
support and encouragement ho
can get because ho is doing a
work purely benevolent in nature
and the way to make fair a success
is not to stand oil' bickering and
fault-lindiug but to join in and
support the movement and timo
will correct those minor errors
which some people are so fond of
magnifying into mountains.
Rnlhvny Extensions.
There 13 no doubt but that ooji-
cidorublo railroad building will
be done in Texas during tho
coming year. It looks now like
the Orient road north of Sweet-
water at least will bo completed
before tho end of tho year. The
Santa Fo will without much doubt
extend this branch from the
point olfenng tho best induce-
ments and tho Frisco will likely
be built into San Antonio.
These are but a few of the con-
templated railroad enterprises
but theso can bo put dovn as al-
most assured now. Tho Santa
Fe and FriBco extensions will
both provo of inestimable advan-
tage to Brownwood and will has-
ten along tho making of a city
hero which wil bo tho leading
commercial point for a vast urea
of territory. It may bo possible
j that tho Santa Fo will build from
hero. Though Coleman appoars
! to olfor a moro favorable point
and tho extension from that place
would provo about ns vnlunblo to
Brownwood ns if nindo from horo.
Coleman Junction would in that
event be tho junction point of ex-
tension. Brownwood Bulletin.
