arrived yesterday morning ac-
companied by Dr. W. It. Thomp-
eon of Ft. Worth and Dr. J. P.
Jarrott of Valley Mills. They
were met at tho train by superin-
tendent J. S. Abbott of the San
Angolo Public school and all im-
mediately left for Spring Creek
for a few days fishing.
A party of county officials of
Dallas county are camping on the
Concho in Lee Bros pasture und

forded by the splondid climate of

guson N. Nigro and Dr. F. Camp-
bell Superintendent J. S. Abbott
of tho San Angolo Public schools
has secured his appointment as a
member of the board of 19 Bum-
mer normal report examiners and
leaves for Austin in a fow days to
enter upon the discharge of Iub
duties which will keep him there
until the latter part of August.
The appointment is but another
tribute to Prof. Abbott's high
standing in educational work is
well merited and the position is
one of emolument ns woll as hon-

Mrs. Chas. F. Hull recently ro-
coived notico of the death of her
youngest brother Georgo Partain
which occured at Ennis Texas on
tho Oth inst. Mr. Partain was' in
the employ of tho H. & T. C.
railway until eighteen months ago
receieving injuries in a wreck at
that time which caused his death.

Mrs. W. Cook died at her homo
in the eaBtern part of the city

She had been an invalid for some
