were scheduled for Tuesday Sept. 6
have been postponed until Tuesday
Sept. 13.
The change was made because of
McMurry Student Government
(MSG) constitutional rules governing
elections according to a MSG spokes-
person. Petitions opened Aug. 29 for
nominations for five MSG Senators
and a class president.
Most students pleased

In a follow-up to last semester's
poll on how students felt about the
cafeteria food and in an attempt to sec
what difference the new J.E. and L.E.
Mabce Dining Hall has on the quality
of food students were once again
asked for their opinions.
Out of 121 students polled during
the lunch meal on Aug. 31 39 said
they usually liked the food 66 said
they liked it sometimes and 16 said
they didn't like the food at all.
Most comments made were of a
good nature. Of the 16 students who
didn't like the food only one was an

The decision to move the election
date was made at the Aug. 29 meeting
of MSG. Oilier action taken was as
follows:
The Homecoming pep rally and
bonfire will be combined on Friday
Nov. 4 prior to the game against
Howard Payne University on Satur-
day Nov. 5. In the past the pep rally
was held on Thursday and the bonfire
was scheduled for Fnd jy.Thc change
was made in hopes of boosting atten-
dance at the pep rally.

uppcrclassman returning to McMurry
and able to make a comparison to last
year's food.
The atmosphere ranked very high
in the reasons students liked the Caf.
Convocation

Convocation is the official gather-

Judicial and Supreme Court members
were appointed.

sec about opening the dining hall early
on Monday evenings.
MSG sponsors for the 1988-89
school year were named. They arc

Baker Doug Price Bob Maniss and
Sandra Harper.
MSG meets each Monday at 5:30
p m. in the cast lounge of the dining
hall. Meetings arc open to anyone
who wishes to attend.

McMurry's adopted mascot Matilda the Chicken has found a new home.
For unknown reasons Maltllda hung around the McMurry campus over
the summer gaining friends and free food. Recently Lyle Reece above
was the "lucky" student who captured Matilda and gave her to Elisabeth
Longbotham education Instructor.Ms. Longbotham promised that Matilda
would be happy and well-cared for-no fried chicken dinners are on her
menu.
