Dr. F. L. McDONALD organized sixteen
clubs in the Texas-Okalhoma Kiwanis District
last year. Whatever he does, he goes' all-
out, and gets the job done in a big wayl • He
would make an excellent college president'.
.Did I mention about Lucile Cottrell
Dean’s baby born Dec. 21? She is now Mrs*
Irving Dean of Moran, Texas; and the baby’s
name is Karen Ann......Lucile is a very
fine person. She lived with us. two years
while in TSCW. This came about by her being
a friend of Ruby'when she taught in Woodson.
AL. MELGARD’S Studio-is in the same
building as. the Millers at 615 Washington
Blvd., Oak Park, Ills. He is the official
organist for the great Chicago Stadium; and
one of the most remarkable men. I know. It
was' through him that I met JOEY SCOTTI (12)
who has.been partially parlyzed for most of
his life. But > through perseverance in prac-
tice on the organ and the patience of Al’Mel-
gard, he is gradually overcoming his great -
handicap, and now plays as well as the aver-
age organist. On one occasion A1 allowed him
to play the great organ in the Stadium---the
largest single-unit organ in the world. For
Loey that was the thrill of a life-time.
Loey has written at least one song. On one
occasion when A1 was shown on T-V at the
organ, Janet who was playing on the floor,
jumped up and asked, "Is it OUR Mr. Melgard?’*
Dr. JACK JOHNSON says my paper- at the
PORUM was "Very well presented; the differ-
ence is. in the. point of view." I always
think of Jack as an idealist; but he and I
have been Qlose friends for years. And don’t
ever think he is a push-over in any argument.
He sws up well in any company. And he MAY
be right—-but I don’t think so.
Mrs. RICHARD C, WHITE, who was Kather-
ine Huffman, is .joining her lawyer-husband
in El Paso.
Mr. and Mrs. LUTHER A. NELSON (Martha
Len Henderson) will both attend U. of Okla.
at Norman. Martha Len look up Joan Headlee,
607 Wilson Center—my grand-niece.
