Enjoying Poor Health'
Is there really such u thing as "en-
joying poor health?" Of course there
is and most of us have seen or heard
of certain people doing that very
thing. Says the North Carolina State
Board of Health in a recent press ar-
ticle: "There are a few people one
occasionally meets who really enjoy
poor health. They feel badly when
they feel good because they are just
sure they are going to feel woifee af-
terward. Are you one of them?"

WOMAN'S SPHERE.
If a woman is really interested in

' . I T-V- w -The teachings
s dor what the conditions of those a-
round her will bo ten thousand years
from now as well as the present. If
there is one way a woman can use her
influence for the jrod better than an-
other it is in the sacred precincts of
the home. Nothing can make our
lives so pure and strong nothing can
arm us so completely for the great
work of life a1- the lessons wo learned
in our lioniPb when children.
It is there a childish friendship is
formed which continues through suc-
ceeding life. It is much stronger than
friendships made in later years. There
is no joy or sorrow for which this
1-omc training will not make us better
prepared.
Of all beings on earth woman alone
is in position to stimulate a love for
homo and its surroundings. The hope
of our nation docs not depend on its
wisdom its executive nor the justice
of its administration half so much as
on the homes. Homes are an absolute
necessity to our state. Whatever
tends to destroy woman's power in the
home tends to destroy our govern-
ment. Jails penitentiaries armies
and navies arc not our best defense.
Our be&t fortress is a home with a
loving woman toiule. Napoleon once
said: "Caesar Alexander Charlema-
gne and I founded empires. But up-
on what did we rest the creatures of
our genius? Woman founds an em-
pire on love and today there are mil-
lions who would die for her."
From generation to generation our
nation is rising to perfection but how
long will it take us to learn that suc-
cess is won by loyalty to our home?
of the home stay with

Even if the redemption of the hu-
man race comes slowly there should
be no discouragement in the work.
We should always remember that the
home is the starting place and that
Christ is our model and not our critic.
Woman's sphere is as wide as the
earth and has its summit in heaven.
It began ia a manger and ended with
a cross and a grave.
