Tho Rev. Craig says that tho half
has never been told about Simmons.
It isn't Noll's fault He docs his
best. However thoro is ono thing
ho docs not know much about and
that is being campuscd.
Girls enter college and old Mary
Frances Hall with various ideas
about being campuscd. Ono that ev-
crpono has is to avoid It. Now some
want to avoid it so that they refrain
from doing things thnt would campus
them. Others try to keep from get'
ting caught
A few freshmen have tho Idea that
going riding is about tho only thing
that ono can bo campuscd for . .

Fourteen-year-old Josephine Grisham who was presented in a unique
program at the Simmons auditorium Monday evening when she played
from memory tho fifteen two-part inventions of Bach for the piano. This
is the first recorded instance in tho United States of a child under 15 years
playing these Inventions according to Prof. Irl Allison head of the uni-
versity music department-
Josephine is tho daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. A. Grisham of Abilene.
Her performance has attracted the interest of Frank Patterson of the Mus-
ical Courier of New York who complimented Prof. Allison on having so
gifted a pupil; and of John Alan Ilaughton question box. editor of Musical
America.
Miss Grlsham's presentation Monday evening climaxed two years of
training under Prof. Allison.
Tho cup by which she is standing was presented to her last year for
winning every event in a musical contest held in Simmons.
n campus has been thrcatcnod for
slamming a doorl An apology served
to absolvo that ono.
Now a few girls have tho idea that
they con do anything openly and get
by with it. For instance two girls
spent tho week-end at homo without
n permit and as a result they sat
in their rooms tho next week-end
twiddling their thumbs.
Somoothcr little girls left nt eight
a. m. ono day and returned at ten-
thirty that night but a telephone call
betrayed them and they are doing
timo in tho S. U. rooming houso for
unlucky girls.
Another missed tho bus or some-
thing and came in nt eleven . . .
which doesn't go over big with tho
dean and tho excuse is old and trite.
Ono school in Abilene even cam-
puses tho boys for misdemeanors.
Oh tho joy that would como from
seeing R. Reeves or Dabo Ribblo
walking gingerly down to Ambler
idad gazing longingly over to tho
lucky ones who got by and asking
them to "please mister won't you
bring mo on ico cream cone?"
No tho half has never yet been
told. And furthermore it never will
bo as long as thcro is such a thing
as a campus inflicted on girls in S.
U. because keeping quiet is a good
way to avoid 'them . . . -being pure
is another.
