The Students' Association
unanimously voted to continue the in-

the proposal be dropped.

Fry indicated the proposal had merit
but he gave four reasons why he was
against it. '
First all college clubs are receiving
free on-campus mailing privileges. Se-
cond the SA also b getting free mail-
ing privileges.
Third according to a memorandum
space is limited in the Post Office so

Students evaluate
ACU cheerleaders1
BySKIPDAMfHFn
A general apathetic response of the
student body toward the cheerleading
program has lead to an evaluation of
the program to determine its specific
weak and strong points said Jeff
Nelson cheerleading sponsor.
The evaluations were distributed to
students March 8 in Chapel. Evalua-
tion sheets also have been distributed
to all faculty members and several staff
members said Nelson.
"Even with a 100 percent effort
from the squads there is still criticism
about the cheerleading program at
ACU" said Nelson. The evaluation
sheets are hoped to give the university
the opportunity to provide construc-
tive criticism of the program he said.
Nelson said he thinks it is the entire
W Club to visit
psychiatric center
The W Club a women's service
organization will take a trip to Wood
Psychiatric Center if approved by the
Center said Schehera Sckhon presi-
dent ofthe organization.
The service project will take place
on April 14 after a picnic devotional
the club b planning to have. The club
b going to try and vbit the teenage
girls at the center said Sekboa.
Another service project the club b

any added duties no matter how
minimal would be critical.
Fourth the amount of savings to
students and the additional cost to the
school would not be cost-efficient.
Pitman said "I think the first two
reasons are basically irrelevant because
that b cot the blent of the proposal.

university's responsibility to offer
direction for the cheerleadingr
gram. He Kid the cheerleaders' shbutu
not be expected to design and imple-
ment the program by themselves.
"Because ACU Is a uniquely struc-
tured school it should have a unl-
quecheering program" said Nelson.
"The students and administration just
haven't been specific enough in telling
the cheering squad what the uni-
queness is" he said.
Nelson b in the process of collecting
and tallying the evaluations. When the
evaluations have been collected the
results will be published he said.
Students or faculty members rp
still have an evaluation sheet arcf -)
couraged to fill it out and either mail it
to Nelson's office or leave it in a ballot
box provided in the Campus Center
he said.
Food Services. The girls will Ho
them out by serving at different r4
quets that are catered by SAGA.
Soon letters will be sent out by W
Club to the departmental heads asking
them to nominate a girl they feel is
worthy of receiving a scholarship. In
the past the amount has been approx-
imately $200 to $250 given totwo
girl. Thk year they Buy combine the
meecy and just give it to one glrl-sfcid

ditional cost of the service is concern-
ed the SA needs to be provided with
some statistics on how much mail flow
the Post Office can handle.
"If the proposal does cause an in-
crease in the mail flow then how
much of a cost increase would incur?
There needs to be a basis some sort
ofstatbtics."
