Saturday morning nt tho chapel
hour Brother Don H. Morris related
as examples for tho students tho lives
of two ox-students both of whom are
well known by many members of tho
present student body.
Tho first of theso boys entered A.
C. C. in the fall of 1921. Ho created
no stir when ho enrolled as ho was
Just a red-headed freckle-faced fresh-
man with no reputation nnd known
to no one. However ho was ablo to
adapt himself to his surroundings
and ho soon went to work. Ho be-

tions studying debating nnd to try
out for tho athletic teams. In addi-
tion to making good grades in his
class work ho was in his senior year
a regular on tho football team and
was elected editor of both "Tho Opti-
mist" nnd "Tho Prickly Pear" but
was forced to resign ono of these.
This young man was graduated
from A. C. C. in 1925 and entered the

holding a responsible position in ono
of tho northern states.
Tho second man entered A. 0. 0.
in 1922. He also had to build his own
roputntion. Ho was practically un-
known when ho entered school but he
had tho "grit" to try anything and
was always ready to do his part. In
his senior year ho was a leader of
tho student body and captain of
tho track team. He was graduated
in 1920.
This man is at tho present in
chargo of all salesmen in a certain
northern state for a largo manufac-
turing company a position which
places him over others who havo
had many times as much experience.
Theso examples go to show that
although not all collcgo graduates
aro successful any ono with a good
education can succeed if ho has the
"grit" to try and i3 willing to adapt
himself to his surroundings Morris
said.

Sadness Pervades Campus.
Sadness seemed to pervade tho
campus Monday as students and
faculty members gazed upon tho
