NOVEMBER 25-26
Thq Texas Speech Arts Association
held the annual meeting in Houston
on the 25 and 20 of this nxonth. Miss
Jessie Millsapps was the -hostess at
the meeting. . x. r
On Friday morning a'-bitHMS sea
sion was held. In this parrel Miss
Ellen D. MacUorquodale -read a
most interesting paper on "Profit
able Advertising.!' Miss Millsapps
addressed the meeting also..
Miss Frances- Fox director of the
dramatic division; gave a pupppet
show. The parts were taken from
"Alice In Wonderland" and "Old
King Colo"
Friday afternoon Eugene Pillot
Houston poet and playwright gave
selections from his own works. Mr.
Plllot.-who is nationally known was
given an appreciative hearing.
On Friday night the Rico Drama
tic Club entertained the Association
by the presentation of -"Aren't We
All?"
Saturday there was a round-table
talk and discussion Miss Yetts
.Mitchell talked on "Oral Reading."
After this Miss Mary E. Lattimorc
of 'Baylor Beiton was elected presi
dent of the Texas Speech Arts As
sociation. Miss Mitchell was elected
head of the college section.
Following the luncheon Rudolph
Miller gave a platform interpretation
of Joseph Jefferson's dramatization
of Rip Van Winkle. Mr. Miller is a
