Erick M. Lindberg was born in 1821 and
came to Bosque County in 1855 from Kong-
svinger, Norway, with his brothers, Jefferson
Alexander (1809-1870), and Nilse Lindberg.Martin Julius Linberg was the son of Erick
M. and Martha (Ringness) Lindberg, born in
1866 at Norse.
Martin was christened as an infant and
confirmed in the Lutheran Church at Norse.
He attended Norse and Clifton schools and
graduated from Thorp Springs College in
1884. He was associated with his father in the
operation of the Linberg and Son General
Merchandise store.
In 1889 Martin married Inger (Annie
Christianson) daughter of John Christianson
and Karen (Kari) Kristianson. Many immi-
grants spelled their name differently in
America as opposed to the spelling in Nor-
