George and Selma Harris-1941, and sons Mac, Don, and Jim Bill.
George McNemar Harris was born 1911, on
a ranch between Clifton and Valley Mills. Hisda's story could be called a cradle to the grave
romance, as they were baptized on the same0
Sunday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church at
Norse. At a dinner held at the Hansen home
in their honor that day, someone stood
looking at the babies in the cradle and said,
"Ville det ikke vaere rart om de enday blev
giftet?" (Wouldn't it be a coincidence if they
were to get married some day?) When they
were twelve years old, Thomas gave Matilda
a small cup which is now in the possession of
their great-granddaughter, Stephanie Harris.
They married in 1895 and lived near Cranfills
Gap, where he practiced diversified farming
and was one of the first farmers in the county
to have his land terraced.
Mrs. Jenson passed away in 1952, and he
died four months later, thus ending a long
romance.
Their sons were: Justin, a school adminis-
trator who married Helen Rohne; Sylvester,
an auditor who married Leila Campbell;
Tilden, a Methodist minister who married
Mae Draper; Martin, a Lutheran minister
who married Valborg Tiller; Jim, a farmer
who married Mae Rohne, and Lawrence, a
Lutheran minister who married Camilla
Reinertson.

Kevin, who married Charlotte Thomasek of
Burleson, and they live there with their
young sons, Christopher and Nathan. Kevin

ment and also does some house contracting.

tary Academy at Lexington, Missouri.
George Jr., more commonly known as Mac,
spent several years working for Brown and
Root Construction Co. around Houston, the
North Sea, Saudi Arabia, and Trinidad, West
Indies, where he met and married Patricia

Amoco Oil Company in Trinidad, and he and
