Art Club. Art students who have completed 12 semester hours and have a 3.0 average or above in
art are elgible to be nominated by faculty to the Epsilon Theta Chapter of Kappa Pi International Col-
legiate Art Honorary Fraternity. Kappa Pi sponsors Homecoming and Christmas art sales, service
projects and art related social activities.
Internships in Art. Art internships for junior and senior art majors give students meaningful prac-
tical experience by working in a gallery, museum or commercial setting to see how the theoretical con-
cepts of Art are put into practice. Students have had internships at the Abilene Reporter News, Center
of Contemporary Art, Zachry Associates, and Museums of Abilene.
Requirements for Degrees in Art:
(B.F.A.) Degree in Studio Art -
All B.F.A. students must take: (B.F.A. Core)
Art 1300, 1310, 2300, 2301, 2302, 2304, 2321, 3190, 3330, 4388, 4390 ............ 31 hrs.
Either Art 3322 or 3323........................................ 3 hrs.
34 hrs.
PLUS, All B.F.A. students must choose one concentration from below
Concentration in Painting
Art 1313, 2310, 3310, 3321, 3340, 4310, 4320, 4301 ........................... 24 hrs.
Electives: 11 semester hours, (9 of which must be advanced) from the
following areas- graphic design, painting, ceramics, jewelry,
photography, printmaking, or sculpture (some advanced hours
through intercollegiate courses)........................ ............. 11 hrs.

Concentration in Ceramics
Art 1313, 2310, 2313, 2314, 3315, 4313, 4314 ...............................21 hrs.
Electives: 14 semester hours, (12 of which must be advanced) from the
following areas- graphic design, painting, ceramics, jewelry,
photography, printmaking, or sculpture, some advanced hours
