Department of English
control, community hygiene and public health. Credit: Three
hours a semester.
Each student is required to have had a physical exam at the
beginning of each Fall term. Those whose disability prevents
their participation in one of the regular class activities must
enroll in P. E. X. This course will be especially designed to meet
the need of this special student. All students must wear the reg-
ulaion white gym suits and colored sox and ties which designate
her college classification.

English 110, 111 and English 29a, b, are included in the
minimum requirements for graduation.
MAJOR REQUIREMENTS: Advanced English, 12 semester
hours (including English 39a, b, and English 49ai, bi, the latter
course required of those recommended by the Department of
English or the college administration to teach English in Class A
High School.
MINOR REQUIREMENTS: Eighteen semester hours, six of
which shall be advanced.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: English 110 is open to those stu-
dents who have successfully completed three years of English in
an affiliated High School, or who have passed a college entrance
examination on three years of High School English.
English 110, 111. Composition and Rhetoric. Writing
Laboratory. Credit: Six semester hours.
English 29a, b. Outline of English Literature. Credit: Six
semester hours.
English 130. American Literature. Credit: Three semester
hours.
English 131. American Literature. Credit: Three semester
