Goodwiil Toward Sailors
Right, Delpha Moran Barrera and Margaret
Screws of the St- Theresa Women's Club in
Premont visited the Seamen Newman
Center in Corpus Christi over the holidays
to help deliver gifts from the members of
the organization. Many women's
organizations in the diocese contribute
personal articles for the seamen on a
yearly basis. This is usually carried out
around Christmas time but it can be done
anytime of year. Articles needed are
shaving cream, toothpaste, hair brushes,
tooth brushes, combs, socks or woolen or
acrylic caps. The bags of goods are then
delivered to ships for their crews as gifts
since they are away from home. Corpus
Christi is one of the busiest ports in the
nation. Other organizations that would like
to help in this cause can call Barrera at
(361)348-3426.
