pink wreaths bore white satin ribbons
forming an aisle The maid of honor
Miss Anna Joseph Long in pink em-
pire gown with gold trimmings and
carrying Killarney roses pteceded the
bride upon the arm of her father
who gave her away
The brides gown was an imported
tissue over ivory satin directoire
elaborately embroidered in seed
pearls with strings of pearls grace-
fully caught over the corsage and
garniture of point lace
The soft folds of the wedding veil
were surmounted with a coronet of
orange blossoms and gracefully fell
over the shower bouquet of bride
roses and valley lilies Her only or
namentwas a beautiful cross and
crown brooch of pearls and diamonds

hair ferns and white carnations with
white candles burning in cathedral

The folding doors between the li-
brary dining room and parlor were
thrown open and formed a graceful
setting for the bridal pictuie being
decorated with a sveallh of holly
mistletoe and palfs with chous of
tulle
Growing palfs adorned every avail-
able space Silk flags were draped
over the windows and a large gar-
rison flag sent from Fort Leaven
worth for the occasion hung in grace-
ful folds suggesting a welcome to
army circles for the fair young bride
After congratulations the guests
were given an opportunity to view the
costly and beautiful wedding gifts
notable among which was a hand-
some almond set in repousse silver
presented by the vested choir of St
Marys Cathedral of which the bride
was a charter member The wedding
gift from the Sixteenth infantry meat
set consisting of a large solid silver
platter with smaller ones and carving
set all of colonial design handsome-
ly ornamented and engraved with a
large B and regimental coat of
arms and crest
Miss Carolyn Hamilton of Colum-
bus Miss w earing a blue satin em-
pire gown with pearl trimmings serv-
ed punch in the dining room from a-
round table decorated with Malaga
grapes and other fruit
A four course wedding menu was
served In the palm room
Maj Buck and his bride graciously
leceived the best wishes of the nu-
merous family servants the biides
black mamy so dear to the southern
girl being among them
The bride donned her going away
gown of olive green broadcloth with
harmonious accessories and amid a
shower of farewells and good wishes
the happy couple left for their home
in Washington where Maj Buck is
attending the army war college and
will be at home after Januaiy 10
at the Sheridan

morning to apply the Mallme test to
two horses belonging to a local
man supposed to be suffering with
I glanders and after the test was made
I the doctor pronounced the cases gen-
uine Eight horses have alieady been
killed with this disease and the doc
I tor says there are a number of other
f horses in the city suffering from the
same disease and that it is going to
spread rapidly and work disaster un
less prompt steps are taken to check
it The disease is very deadly both
to man and beast and those horses
diseased being watered at the public
watering troughs and in daily use
are bound to spread the infection
The doctor recommends absolute quar-
antine and destruction of those ani-
mals found to have this disease
