Loudon November 21 5 a m The re-
ports of heavy lighting at Ladysmlth last
Wednesday havo not been confirmed On
tho contrary tbo most reliable advices
from Estcourt indicate that there was
nothing moro than a desultory cannonade
Probably the rumors of a serious engage

threw a few harmless shells Inst Tuesday
night leading to the supposition that an
attack wus imminent Nothing however
happened Wednesday
Beyond tho fact that tho Boers are dally
receiving fresh reinforcements and sup-
plies there is practically nothing from tne
front Tho Boer invasion of Capo Colony
