Named President
Of School Board
Bobby Gersbach was elect-
ed president of the Board of
Trustees of the Bartlett Inde-
pendent School District when
board members mot Thursday
evening.
Other officers elected were
E. T. Jones vice-president;
and Mrs. W. C. Decker secre-
tary. '
Votes of the April 5th trust
ee election were canvassed
and the following results were
corrected to read as following:
Alva Cating - 90. Charles Carl
son - 99 Leroy Janice - 12
Victor Marelc - 4 L. Ray Jan-
Ice - 3 Bob Burns - 2 Cecil
Satterfield - 2 Rich Brown -2
and Virgil Ferguson - 1.
The oath of office was ad-
ministered to Alva Cating and
Charles Carlson by Bobby
Gersbach.
Mr. and Mrs. Ambris Brum-
helow of Davilla met with the
hoard members and requested
that the new slate of officers
"be recognized for the com-
munity building at Davilla.
This building was formerly
the Davilla school which now
"belongs to Bartlett Independ-
ent School District. Officers
are Ambi'is Brirmbelow. presi
dent; Ellis Burns chairman of
the building and sports com-
mittee; and Helen Brumbe-
low secretai-y - treasurer.
Board members voted that
this group of officex-s be offi-
cially recognized by tho
TJartlett School Board as being
responsible for the Davilla
Community Center.
In other business board
members voted that Bartlett
ISD contract with the Region
XII Educational Service Cen-
ter for computer services for
the 1975-76 school year at a
total cost of $2000.00.
It was also voted that Bart-
lett ISD hire a full time band

Salvation Army
Drive Nets $412.50.
Rev. Allan Gohs. chairman of
the local Salvation Army Drive
has reported a final total of
$412.50 collected on the local
drive.
The chairman wishes to ex-
press his thanks and apprecia-
tion to all of the workers who
so willingly assisted on the drive
and also to those who contribut-
ed to the drive.

To Meet Monday

speaker at the April meeting
of the Bartlott-IIolland Young
Farmers when the organiza-
tion meets Monday April 21
beginning at 7:30 p.m. at the
Aarriculture building in Holland.
Mewhinney will speak on
-wills inheritance taxes and re-
lated items of interest.
The public is invited to attend.
Mini-Bus To Pick
Up Here Tuesday
Bell County Mini-Bus pro-
vides transportation to Tem-
ple for Bartlett citizens 55
years of age or older on the
second and fourth' Tuesday's
of each month. The next trip
for Bartlett will be next
Tuesday April 22.
Those wishing to ride on the
Mini-Bus are asked to meet at
the Town Hall at 9 a.m.
The transportation is en-
tirely free for those Tiding the
bus to Temple for shopping
doctor's visits and other er-
rands. Anyone who has an appoint
ment on any other day other
than the regular pick-up in
Bartlett is asked to contact
Mrs. Olga MacKenzie and it
may possibly be arranged on
a route with another town.

More Donations
More donations have been
received towards tho landsca-
ping project of the- Cornelia
Wilson Garden Club bringing
tlie total donations to $482.00.

the Wesleyan Circle.
"The Other Place"
Is Now Open
The Other Place Neighbor-
hood Center an extension of the
Concerned Citizens Center is
now open. Among the programs
being offered is a youth enrich-
ment program employing sev
eral Inch school students as
helpers through the CETA pro
gram. Tnese students are Ar
mando DeGollado Shakey Joh-
nson Pam Williams and Mary
Lou Leos.
These CETA's are responsible
for one or more grammar school
age children to help not only
with reading and writing but
going interesting places and
being friends. Applications are
now available for the summer
program at the center located
at the former residence of Da
vid Thomas in Salt Lake.
Other programs are income
tax assistance transportation
of elderly welfare referrals
legal aid referral self-help
housing family planning and
birth control information etc.
Tho egg program a newest
addition to the center consists
of selling large farm-fresh eggs.

All-Sports Banquet to be held
Thursday April 24 at the high
school gymnasium beginning
at 7 p.m. Tickets are $3.50 and
may be purchased from any of
the Booster Club members
cheerleaders or at the high
school office.
The banquet is sponsored by
the Bartlett Atrfletic Booster
Club.

Kindergarten
First Grade To
Pre-Register
On Thursday April 24 there
will be a pre-registration for
students that will be in the
first grade or kindergarten next
school year.
Parents are asked to bring
the childs birth certificate and
immunization records.
Those children who are in
kindergarten this year do not
need to pre-register.
Pre-registration may be done
at the office of the Elementary
School at any time during the
day of April 24th.

blue ribbons in flower arrang-
ing and tables while Mrs. Cry-

in the horticulture division.

Friedrich Reunion
Set April 27th
Plans are underway for the
annual Friedrich reunion which
will bo held Sunday April 27 at
ths American Legion Hall in
Bartlett.
A basket lunch will be served
at the noon hour. Bread silver-
ware and drinks will be furnish-
ed. All descendants of the Fried-
rich families are urged to attend
and friends are welcome.

the B-G Grain Elevator office
