Schools hns been appointed dis
trict deputy grand master of
fhe 48th Masonic District of
Texas. Appointment was made
at the close of the 139th annual
communication of the Grand
Lodge of Texas A. P. and A. M.
by Robert B. O'Connor Grand
Master of Masons in Texas.
Neal was installed along with
135 other deputies who will be
the representatives of Grand
Master O'Connor in the various
Masonic Districts of the Grand
Lodge of Texas. The 48th Ma-
sonic District includes lodges in
ueii bounty including Salndo
Belton Troy Rogers Holland
(Zerne) Killeen and Temple
(Knob Creek and King Solomon).
It will be the duty of the de-
puty grand master to assist the
lodges with projects and pro-
grams and to add any assistance
necessary for observance of Pu-
blic Schools Week in March of
1975.
Neal has been countv sunnr-
intendent of Bell County Schools
since 1947 and is affiliated
with Knob Creek Lodge No. 401
or Temple.

Promoting Meat
Holiday Sales
Williamson County Farm Bu-
reau has joined the all-out ef-
fort to increase consumption of
meat poultry and dairy prod-
ucts through a gift certificate
promotion during the Christmas
holidays according to Presi-
dent Emery Blackman. This is
a positive approach to assist
these commodities in serious
trouble.
The program is set up to en-
courago peoplo to give meat
poultry and dairy products for
Christmas. This may be accom-
plished through two different
methods; buying gift certifi-
cates or through giving checks
or money orders.
Gift certificates and colorful
mailing envelopes arc being
provided to stores which do not
have their own certificates. At-
tractive envelopes and message
cards explaining tho gift idea
can be used with checks or mon
ey orders. Both of these items
are insupply at the County Office.

The Independent Cattlemen's
Association o f Williamson
County met Thursday night
Dec. 5 at 7:30 at the Jonah
School.
There were 24 reports receiv
ed from blueback membership
workers who had signed up a
total of 454 members.
The blueback membership
workers will meet again Dec. 16
at 7:30 at Jonah School to turn
in additional names- of moro
new members.
A report was read concerning
the achievements of the Stato
I.C.A. office.
T. A. Cunningham State
President of the I.C.A. met with
Robert Stewart Banking Com-
missioner of Texas on Nov. 22
to discuss ways and means of
assisting tho farmer and ran-
cher with their financial prob-
lems. This was reported as a
highly successful meeting.
On the same day Cunning-
ham also met with Charles
Cole of the School Lunch Pro-
gram of the Stato of Texas to
discuss using American beef in
the school lunch programs. This
meeting was most rewarding
and much was accomplished to
the Association's benefit it was
reported.
