Committee Plans
Special Program
Bell County Historical Sur
vey Committee will sponsor a
Texas Independence Day pro
gram March 2. A program with
Dayton Kelley as the speaker
will be held at 3 p.m. in the stu-
dent union building of Temple
Junior College in Temple. This
is the "first of four programs
planned for the year by the Sur-
vey Committee and its affiliate
the Bell County Historical Soc-
iety. The public is invited to at-
tend. W. A. Durham of Summers
Mill chairman of the Survey
Committee will briefly outline
the work of the organizations
Jack W. Prescott Temple law
yer will introduce the speaker.
Kelley who is assistant curator
of the Texas Collection at Bay
lor University Waco will talk
on "Five Early Texas Rail
roads." Special music will be by
Students from Mary Hardin-
Baylor College in Belton.
The program also will launch
the 1969 membership drive of
the Historical Society. All per-
sons interested may buy mem-
berships for $1. per year at the
Sunday program. Mrs. John F.
Hill of Temple is program
chairman and J. W. Anderson
also of Temple is chairman of
the membership drive.

sent in by Bartlett from the
1968 drive. He stated that
"Williamson County received

The club voted to sponsor

the Will O' Bell Nursing homfe
in honor of Elmer Cryer. Ap
pointed to serve on the com

Watson.

Mr. and Mrs. Pete Martin-
ka Jr. of Waco announce the
arrival of a 7 pound 4 ounce
son born on Feb. 25th in Hill-
crest Hospital in Waco. He has
been named Pete Edward.

and Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Luker
of Jarrell.
Great-grandparents are Mr.
