when only 17.45 inches fell. The
previous low came in 1956 When

Slated To Retire
Judge D. B. Wood of George-
town has announced that he
will not be a candidate for re-
election to the office of judge
of the 26th District Court.
Judge Wood has served
terms as presiding judge of the
3rd Administrative Judicial j
District of;Texas supervising
the work of 21 district courts
in 33 Central Texas counties.
He is held in high regard by
other district judges and has'
been unanimously endorsed by
the other jurists for re-appoint- j
ment when his first term as
presiding judge expired.
There has been some specu-
lation 'that the Jack Ruby raur-
dei4 trial might he changed to
Georgetown. Ruby is scheduled
to go" to trial for the murder
of the alleged assassin of Pres-
ident Kennedy.' ' l
