Senator Lyndon B. Johnson
has announced that Civil Ser
vice examinations for Texaa
"boys seeking appointment in
1957 to tho. Army Navyt and
Air Force service schools will be
held November 20 at 71 cities
and towns throughout the state.
Congressmen Homer Thorn-
berry announces that these
exams in the Tenth District will
be held at the Austin Post Of-
fice at 8:30 a. m. on this date.
Both Senator Johnson and
Congressman Thornberry use!
the results of these exams as a
guide in making appointments!

Entrance requirements vary
but all three academies require
that appointees be United Statesi
citizens. In the case of appli-
cants to be considered by the
above named they must be res-
idents of Texas. They must bo
betwen the ages of 17 and 21
years upon entry must be single
and must pass a rigid medical
examination and a physical ap-
titude test. Candidates for the.
Air Force Academy must bo
able to pass the medical exam-
ination for flying training yid a
pilot aptitude test.

tended until December 31 1953
