two games both to Troy who is
headed toward the district
championship with only one loss

Swope Re-elected
As Superintendent
Of Bartlett Schools
D. A. Swope who is now serv-
ing his second year as super-
intendent of the Bartlett schools
was reelected for a two-year
term at the meetinir of the
Beard of Trustees Monday night
will be elected at the April meet-
ing. A report of school f fnanccs at
the meeting revealed the district
to be in excellent financial con-
dition with more than 90 per
cent of the current taxes collect-
ed by the last day of January.

W. H. (Billy) Davis
Announces For
County Attorney
W. H. (Billy) Davis of George-
town authorized announcement
of his candidacy for the office of
County Attorney of Williamson
County and is seeking the demo
cratic nomination for same- in
the prfmary election this year.
Mr. Davis is a native- of this
countj of Georgetown and is
a son (one of the twins) of the
late W. H. Davis Who was in the
furniture busi'ness and well
known over. the county. The can
didate descends from pioneer
families; his maternal grand
father A. S. Fisher was
District Judge here many years
ago when -the district was com-
posed of Williamson and other
adjoining counties. -
Mr. Davis is 35 years old and
has a wife and two small child-
ren ; daughter Lois is two years
old and son Will. nine months.
Mr3. Davis is the former Addie
Jane Howard and her mother
was born at Merrilltown. The
family has a number of relatives
in this section.
Mr. Davis was graduated from
Georgetown High School receiv-
ed the B. A. degree from South-
western University law degree
from Cumberland University of
Tennessee and has done grad-
uate work in government at
Southwestern.
He served three years in th6
Marines two years of it over
seas in the Pacific area and is a
member of the American Legion.
Mr. Davi's was admitted to the
Bar in 1940 practiced civil and
criminal law in Williamson
county and is now serving as
Justice of the Peace of Precinct
No. 1 and City Judge of George-
town ; is now commonly referred
to ns "Judge Davis".
