Bartlott residents was killed
instantly in a car accident early
Tuesday morning south of Elgin
as she was enrouto to her work
in Austin. Mrs. W. O. Sterling
also of McDade was killed and
four other persons were injured.
It was reported that the car in
which she was riding crashed
into a parked truck.
She was born May 17 1932 in
Slaton and moved to Bartlett
with her parents when very
young. The family moved to Mc-
Dade only a few years ago.
Funeral services wero held at
2:00 p. m. Thursday in St.
Peter's Lutheran Church in
Eltrin with the Rev. H. Engeling
of Elgin officiating assisted by
Hev. Gus Sacor ot JJartieu.
Burial was ;n the Elgin City
Cemetery.

munity who passed away at his
home in Natalia Texas about
8: 00 o'clock Saturday morning
Jan. 7th.. Father Valenta offici-
ated at the service.
Mr. Mitchell was born in
Louisville Ky. Oct. 31 1862 and
moved to Ellis ounty Texas in
1885. He moved to 'Williamson
county in ' 1912 and farmed
around Jarroll and Schwertner
until ho moved to Natalia in
April 1949.
Ho was married to Katie Ham
mond Dec. 2G 1899. Two sons
Elwood and Ira preceded him in
death.
Survivors are his widow of
Natalia; five daughters Mrs
Barton Ramsey of Tucumcan
N. M Mrs. Albert Hill of Ard
more Okla. Mrs. Chas. Ickes of
Georgetown Mrs. Alice Jackson
of Temple Mrs. Mary Belle Pool
of Wixom Mich.; four sons

a collision with a gravel truck
Monday morning about 10:30 at
the Indian Creek bridge near
the St. John's Lutheran Church
as she was onroute to Bartlett
from Temple.
She was token to a Temple
hospital where she was treated
for shock and cuts and bruises
about her body. She returned to
her homo here late Tuesday
afternoon.
Her car was completely de-
