When you’re buying cotton
sheets, it’s a good idea to know
the correct size so they will St
properly. Sheets should be as
long as the mattress plus two
thicknesses of it. Allow ten
inches for a turn-under.

ROGATION SUNDAY
OBSERVED
Beginning the fth Sunday af-
ter Easter and continuing
through the folloming Sunday,
many areas of the nation ob-
serve Soil Stemardship Week.
It is hoped that the entire State
of Texas mill join in this effort
In East Texas it is especially
appropriate to stress the need
of wise use of our forest re-
sources.
The evening worship of the
First Methodist Church was
given over to the observance of
Rogation Sunday evening, May
3rd. Rev. James O. Bauman’s
message, “Just Stewards of
God's Green Earth,” presented
the necessity of each person
becoming a just steward of
what was entrusted to him.
Emphasis wee also stressed
that “Just Stewards” do not
litter the country side nor be-
come careless with any flame
that may result In a forest Are.
A summary of the 1957 wool
marketing year in Texas shows
that 236 of the State’s 254
counties sold some wool under
the incentive payment pro-
gram. Sales ranged from leas
than 100 pounds to almost 2,-
000,000 pounds per county.
