Thll Digest was compiled and published under the pn-
vlsiuus of the Aet nf the Iglslature of the 15th February
A . D ISM It Includes "all the Oeneral Btatute Laws or
this Mate dowu to and tnoludlng those passed at the
present (lost) session of the Legislature."
It also contains "all the Repealed Lawi of the Republic
and Htate of Texas by through or under which right
have accrued ;M also "the Culunliatlon Laws of Meilco
and of t.o State of Coahuila and Tetas which wore In
force before the Decloratltin of independence by Texas."
I will be seen that the alphabetical arrangement of tbo
Digest of the late Mr Hartley has b.en preserved as far
as pussltile. The profcixlnn has grown familiar with that
arrangement mid It was deemed Important to ohserro It
in this new Digests in Other resiwcts the plan of Bright-
ley's Digest of tht Mtalutee of the Unit d Htates ha been
adopted.
