be no respect of person's or deviation from our terms on any account whatever

vertisements. All Adveitiscments the publication of which is required by law must be paid
for in advance.
The twenty-second section of the law regulating fe es of office provides that in
all cases where a citation or other process is required to be served by publication
in a newspaper the officer whose duty it may be to make such service shall be
furnished with the prinieis' lee for such publication before he shall he required
to have such service made.
The first section ol the act of February 5 1811 regulating the sale of runaway
slaves provides al-o that where any slave is committed to jail as a runaway a
notice of the apptehetisiun and commitment with a full'dcscription ofsucii slave
shall be published weekly in one of the papers at the Seat of Government for the
space ol one month and piinied copies theieof furnished totheClerk oflhe Coun-
ty Court ol the county where the commitment shall have been made.
The third section 'ofthe act of February 8ih 1850 regulating ESTRAYS
requires the County Cletks to cause a copy of all certificates of appraisement and
description ot an animal or animals esirayed in their respective counties to be
forwarded to the Public Printer lot the Slate at the end of every three months
who shall publish the substance ofthe same and lorward copy ofthe paper con-
taining it to the County Clerk to be filed and preserved in his office tor the in-
spection ol those inteiested; lor whi h publication or notice the printer shall re-
ceive frutu the party estraywg the sum of two dollars lo be collected from the
taker up by the Oour.iy Clerk and paid to the order of such Prin'er.
To facilitate the compulation ofour charges for advertising one hundred words
or less may be considered as constituting a square ; over one hundred and Under
two hundred words two squares nnd so on.
Advertisements not mntked with the time for which they are to be published
will be continued until forbid ana charged accordingly.
Subscribers Advertisers and Agents may remit money at our risk and expense.
All communications must be addressed to the Publisher postpaid.
