the Trinity river is the landing place for this point

road to it from this place is direct and at all times
excellent without regard to the state of the weath-
er and there is not a creek crossing it during the
w hole distance.
The ccntrality of Tawakanah as regards the pop-
ulation of the State "rill be apparent to any one

ties than any oilier locality which is in oilier re

and susceptible of dense settlement. Above it lie

laud it having been patented to thc subscriber by

the County and State aforesaid do hereby crtify
that a Rond was this day filed for record from Da-
vid Liughlin of said county donating and binding
himself in the penal sum of ten thousand dollars to
convey by Deed to the Governor of the State o
Texas or his successors in office in caso of accept-
ance by the People of Texas of the Tawakanah
bills as tho scat of Government six hundred and
forty acres of land out of his head-right league
situated and lying on Richland creek in the county
aforesaid.

of January. A. D. 1850 fdji his alEdavit
showing that one D. T. Walters is Justly indebted
to him in the sum of thirty dollars and that said
Wattcrs is about to remove bfs properly beyond tho
State and has sued out an attachment against thc
property of saidJ'Walicrs and given bond to that
effect therefore you are hereby commanded to cite
said D. T. Walters if to ho found in your county
or if not (hen by publication in some newspaper
three weeks in succession fa be and rppear before
E'am Riddle aifaciing J us lieu of the Peace in and
for said county of Thus Precinct number 3 2nd
class at his office in the tsvvn of Mount Pleasant;
on thc last Saturday in February A. 1). 1850
then and there to answer the complaint of Scth
Pryor as alledged in his affidavit. Herein fail not
and have you then and there this writ with yonr ac-
tion hereon endorsed as Ihc law directs.
