The undersigned as will as the Church to
which be belongs believing that tbe spiritual
wants of the country are such as to demand
Ihe publication of a periodical devoted lo the
cause of Religion and Moralry tn this Slate
proposes publishing a paper ol tbe eborc de-
scription. Notwithstanding the EJi'or is of the Cum
berland Presbyterian Church it is his inten-
tion to devote his columns to the advancement
of the great interests of Christianity in a gi iit-
ral point of view. His columns will be open
to all denominations ur Chiintians not touching
controveile'd points of doctrine. They will
also be free lo all literary and moral associa-
tions of Ihe country.

Thr course of instruction is extensive and
thorough. The institution is furnished with
Apparatus Library and every facility neces-
sary for the acquisition of a thorough education.
Tuition in college proper is 820 per session
of five months. In the preparatory department
8IOto815; contingent expenses 8 Studtnts
wishing to lodge in colli ge are furnished with
looms at 83 per session.
Boarding can be had in good families or at
private houses at 81 50 to 92 per week inclu-
ding boarding washing fuel and light.
Tbe number of studtnts in attendance at the
present time is 115.
The students of the University as a comma-
nity.are distinguished for industry and utderU
deportment and practical piety about 3 4ths of

Twenty five are preparing for the ministry.
Theological students attend private lectures
on theology by Rev. R. Donnell and the Pre-
sident The collegiate venr commences on the first
Monday of October and closes the last Thurs
