Emigrants Wrecked. Fronf the American!
brig Osage off the San Luis bar we learn that
the Jersey brig Jolly Tar Capt. M. A. Le Rosig-
nal left the port of London on 11th Sept. bound!
for Galveston Texas put jnto St. Thomas on 2d
Nov. in distress. On the 12th Nov. was wreck-
ed on the Gardine feys 40 miles south of Cuba..
The captain andeight .others comprising part of
the passengers and crew left the wreck with the-
ostensible purpose of procuring (assistance but"
fell in with the Spanish schooner of war Laguy-
ra and proceeded .to Havana. After having iin-"
dergone extreme hardships causiagf the death
of the mate and a lady passenger (after leaving
the wreck;) the regaining crew and passengers
twenty two in number were jtaken to the .Grand
Cayman in the turtle trading smack Dandy
and remained on the island uatil the lttthJJec

saved in a much damaged condition. Vessel
consigned to Bennett fc Co. Galveston. Cargo
principally owned by Franjdand & Jones.
The passengers attach great blame to the cap-
rain oitne jolly Tar m. a. .Lie iwjsignau. we
have seen some ofthe emigrants who notwith-
standing their misfortune were not deterred from
seeking the first opportunity of prosecuting their
voyage to completion. We extend the hand of
welcome to them and wish them the succesk
