the reused speeches delivered during the session.
The work as it is now to be conducted by them
will be found a most perfect political history. The
Senators- fiom the United States and the Reprised-
talives fruiii every Section of the Union bring with
them into Congress a knowledge of the feelings
sentiments and interests of their several constitu-
encies. Public opinion and the public information
as it exists among those they represent are embodi-
ed by them; and in the crucible of Congress the
wisdom of our times is brought to its test and is
there concentrated in directing the political move-
ments of llio whole country. Tho impulses thus
given through Congress from every qutrter react
upon the nitinn as a whole and all its component
parts are undo to .nove in co-ouer.ition. The press
cannot be more usefully cmplojed than in conden-
sing and again spreading abroad the intelligence of
our free country tending to such happy results
through oar a.lmpst miraculously adjusted State anS
National institutions.
Having identified out selves with the plan of ad-

of Congressional Globe and Appendix issued dur-

Hiving at this place by accident met with Mr. J
G. Walker ynur travelling agent forTevas with a
largo lot of ) our Anti-Fever and Anti-Bilious Pills
designed for Texas; I would say to you that if
you were to send ten times as many on lied River
and i:s tributaries that they would be disposed of.
There are a number of Planters in that country
who use no other medicino since you have reduced
the price to the low rates at which they are aMirf-
scnt sold. I have this fall travelled through Nor
thern and Eastern Tcxns and hear voitr Pills spo
ken of in every neighborhood in which I have been-
and universally approved of. I have administered
no other medicine of equal reputation and of the
sime success in allFevers and at tho present low
rates it is certainly designed to become the univer
sal medicine of every neighborhood. I present
jou with those few lines with no expectation of!
remuneration in return but as an act ot benevo
lence citing to those that may be unacquainted
(if any) where they can procure a remedy.
