Commercial Female Show and
sale.
Scholarship applicants were
judged based on their
agricultural involvement and
scholastic ability. Sommer was
recommended for the
scholarship by the Means Ranch
in Dublin.
The scholarship was
presented t'o Sommer at the
beginning of the 2004
Commercial Heifer Sale on
Sunday, Feb. 8th.

Bud Sch wart. Extension Economist- Dairy
Milk production is steady in
the Northeast and increasing in
the Southeast. Southeastern
milk supplies are outpacing
demand so milk is moving to
processors out of the region.
In the Mid- Atlantic region
milk supplies are tight. Very
little surplus is available for
processing. Apparently,
handlers expect the scarcity in
the Mid- Atlantic region to
continue into the summer
months.
In the Central States milk
demand is strong for all uses,
but local supplies are tight so
milk is coming in from other
areas.
In California the weather is
perfect for milk production and
milk supplies are increasing.
However, supplies are not
increasing at expected rates and
milk handlers in California are

Heritage Museum, filled in last week to burn the brand of the Jingle
Bells Ranch belonging to Troy
and Hazel Ashcraft on the brand
wall at the museum. A total of 11
brands were added to the wall.
