Only Tyo District
Teams Win Friday
Holland and Salado were the
only teams to uphold District
25B honors Friday when they
beat Florence and Milano. It
was the first win for the Eagles
since 1955.
Bartlett looked very respect
able in taking a close 14-6 loss
to Class AA Rogers.
Troy played a close one be-
fore losing to Chilton 8-2.
Copperas Cove was surprised
by Marble Falls taking a bad
licking when the Bulldogs were
supposed to be one of the pros-
pective district leaders.
Academy managed to keep
their unbeaten status intact
when their game with a tough
Bremond crew was rained out.
Holland finally outscored
Florence 32-20 in a good game.
Salado took advantage of the
PAT to beat Milano 8-6.
TELEPHONE
TALK
By . C. Crittenden Jr. Manager
A BARGAIN
Did you ever stop to think how much your telephone
means to you? It runs errands for you every day. It also
lets you make many visits with friends that you couldn't
otherwise make. v
Most residence customers here in Bartlett pay less
than 20c a day for their telephone service. What else gives
you so much for such little cost?
LUXURIOUS BUT NOT A LUXURY
Got a telephone for your bedroom yet?
Nothing tops a bedroom telephone for real luxury
living. When I'm home using ours I like to stretch out on
the bed with the phone cradeled between my shoulder and
my ear. I can relax and really talk that way.
There are plenty of good practical reasons for
having a bedroom phone too. Privacy for example. And
women often say how reassuring it is to have a phone at
their bedside when they're alone in the house at night.
It's much nicer to be able to "reach" to answer instead of
having to dash to another room.
Here in Bartlett a bedroom extension costs only
$1.00 a month plus installation. And for a one-time charge
of only $10 you can have your choice of any of the nine
beautiful color telephones. They're especially smart for
bedrooms.
EASY WAY TO KEEP IN TOUCH
1 guess at one time or another we all remember
out of a clear sky someone we haven't thought of in a
long time. 'Whatever happened to George?" we say. Or
to Ruth or the Browns or the Martin family. Upunlly it's
someone we really mean to keep in touch with like the
couple who used to live next door or old friends in faraway
places. But -with so much on our minds and so much to do
the months fly by and we never get around to it.
The quick easy way to make up for lost time is of
course to use your telephone.
A long distance phone call is the personal thought-
ful way of keeping in touch with those you care about. Try
a call tonight and you'll see what I mean.
