The winners are Crawford, McLennan County- $550, Gober, Fannin County-$450, Quitaque, Briscoe County-$350, and Haslet, Tarrant County-$250. These communities will also receive a silver tray. Approximately ninety other communities in one hundred and two ccunties will receive cash awards. Three hundred and three com- munities will receive certificates. Awards programs will be held during June and July all over Texas. These programs will be planned by local Extension agents. Checks and certificates are now in the possession of the county agricultural agent. May I congratulate all county Extension agents, electric utility personnel, and all others that have helped us make this a fine year. May we continue to encourage communities to "Brighten the Corner Where You Are." Enrollment cards should be sent in as soon as possible for the 1969-70 program. The deadline is January 31, 1970.
